Membership Benefits

MEIC keeps its members informed, and helps them get involved in critical issues. Members receive these regular publications:

  • Down to Earth: a quarterly newsletter on current environmental issues facing Montana, and MEIC's work on those issues.
  • Capitol Monitor: a bulletin published during legislative sessions.
  • Montana Environment: a newsletter to our out-of-state members, with articles about a wide variety of Montana environmental issues—not just the ones on which MEIC works.
  • In addition, we publish an occasional series of Citizen Guides and Action Alerts to notify members when quick action can help protect Montana's environment.
All members also receive invitations to MEIC events in their areas, such as our annual Holiday party and member meetings in various parts of the state.

Patron Outing 2006

And when you contribute $100 or more to MEIC annually, you and your family are invited to MEIC’s annual Patron Outing, a day of appreciation held for our members each June. Each year we travel to a new location that holds signifigance for MEIC’s work and Montana’s environment. Some places we have visited in the past have included Ted Turner’s Flying D Ranch, Glacier National Park, the Mike Horse Mine site, the Blackfoot Clearwater Wildlife Management Area and the Judith Gap wind farm project. It is a great opportunity to meet MEIC staff and board members, and other MEIC members!

Overheard...

Sometimes I think you can't fight city hall and that MEIC is just tilting at windmills trying to stop or clean up coal-fired plants. I was delighted to read of your suit against the Highwood plant.  Today's Wall Street Journal  front page notes that new plants are "falling by the wayside."  There is some hope!  Thank you for all you do...keep up the good work.
